Biography

2021 (5th Year Senior): Pitched in seven games, starting three as a fifth-year senior… Pitched to a 3.46 ERA and went 3-1 with a save and 17 strikeouts… Opponents hit just .215 against him… First career start came at Quinnipiac where he earned the win (3/21)… Tossed five one-run innings with three K’s vs. Siena to collect a win (4/3)… Threw two shutout innings vs. Marist in a win (5/2)… Fired 5.2 one-hit shutout frames in MAAC Tournament win over Siena (5/22).

2020 (Senior): Saw action in 10 games, starting six… Had two hits, two runs scored and an RBI… Had a hit and a run scored at San Diego (3/1).

2019 (Junior): One of three Hawks to play in all 57 games, starting 55 at shortstop… Finished second on the team with 13 doubles… 24 walks ranked third on the club… Was a perfect 9-for-9 in stolen base department… Fielded at a .971 clip… Had two hits at ECU, including a double (2/23)… Homered at George Mason, a solo shot (3/17)… Went 3-for-4 with three runs scored vs. Longwood (3/19)… Doubled and went 3-for-3 against Seton Hall (3/24)… Scored twice in a two-hit day against Niagara (4/13)… Posted consecutive multi-hit games against Manhattan (4/27)… Homered and drove in three runs against Rider (5/16).

2018 (Sophomore): Started 53 of 55 games at shortstop… Finished fourth on the Hawks with a .286 batting average… 50 hits ranked third on the team, as did his 11 doubles… Opened the season with a triple and two runs scored on opening night at Dallas Baptist (2/16)… Homered the next night at DBU (2/17)… Went 2-for-4 against St. John’s in Cary, NC (2/23)… Drove in a pair at Delaware (3/11)… Was 2-for-4 with a double at Marist (3/25)… Had an eight-game hitting streak from 3/31-4/14… Hit a critical late home run at Niagara to propel MU to a series win (4/22)… Posted a 3-for-4 afternoon with four runs scored against Manhattan (4/28)… Drove in three runs in a three-hit game at Saint Peter’s (5/5)… Added a 3-for-5 afternoon with a home run against Siena, scoring twice (5/12)… Launched a three-run homer in the conference tournament to help top Quinnipiac (5/25).

2017 (Freshman): Only Hawk to start all 48 games… Named MAAC Rookie of the Week twice, on 4/4 2/21… Hit .207 with eight doubles and two home runs… Also pitched in two games at the end of the season, earning a save and retiring all six batters he faced… Drove in three runs with a double, triple and home run at Florida Atlantic (2/19)… Was 3-for-4 with three RBI’s and two runs scored at Canisius (4/1)… Homered the next day against the Griffs (4/2)… Scored three times against Niagara (4/22)… Doubled twice, scored twice and drove in two at Fairfield (5/6)… Drove in a pair with a double at Seton Hall (5/16)… On the mound, struck out two against Iona to earn a save (5/19).

HIGH SCHOOL: Shortstop and right-handed pitcher from Sellersville, PA at Pennridge... Was a Suburban One First Team All-League choice in 2015, hitting .409 as a junior... Earned a spot on the Second Team Southeastern Pennsylvania, and played on the American Continental Carpenter Cup Team in 2014 and 2015... Picked up a spot on the Pennsylvania Big 26 Team in his junior year... Cousin and former Pennridge teammate Joe Molettiere is currently a pitcher at Monmouth.

PERSONAL: Son of Thomas and Maria Long... Major is business management and decision sciences.
