Jeff Barbalinardo

  • Title
    Director of Operations

Jeff Barbalinardo is in his 19th season within the collegiate coaching ranks as an assistant coach at Monmouth University. It has become a familiar sight to see No. 31 on the Monmouth diamond, first as a player and as part of the coaching staff. Barbalinardo has been with the Monmouth baseball program since 1991.

The Beachwood, N.J., native assists with all the daily activities of the program, with a special emphasis put on outfield development. Under his guidance, the Monmouth outfield has had tremendous performances in the Northeast Conference. Graduates such as Jay Law (2001 ABCA/Rawlings and Collegiate Baseball All-America), Greg Landis (2000 First-Team All-NEC & 2001 Second-Team All-NEC), Bobby Torres, Tom Ambrose, David Santana, Kyle Messineo (2007 First-Team All-NEC), Nick Pulsonetti (2009 First-Team All-NEC, 2011 First-Team All-NEC) and Jamie Rosenkranz (2012 Second-Team All-NEC) have all patrolled the outfield under Barbalinardo's watchful eye.

Barbalinardo is also responsible for the development of the current outfielders and a young corps of newcomers to the campus.

Barbalinardo, who graduated from Monmouth in 1995 with a degree in education, collected some impressive numbers himself, while patrolling the Monmouth outfield. The rightfielder played in 156 career games for a Hawks' team that posted 73 wins during his tenure. The sweet-swinging right-hander was a career .282 hitter, who scored 98 runs, had 104 runs batted in and 157 hits. He also collected 29 doubles and 10 home runs in his four years.

Barbalinardo, who received his master of education degree in May of 1999, is currently a teacher in the Toms River School District. Married to Heather Dawe, the couple reside in Toms River, N.J. with their daughter Ava Lynn and their son, Nolan.
