Brady Kirkpatrick

Brady Kirkpatrick joined the Monmouth coaching staff in October 2016, working with the pitching staff. Kirkpatrick joins the Monmouth program after a brief stint at Rochester and a year as an assistant at the University of San Diego.

Kirkpatrick led the Monmouth staff to a MAAC regular season title in 2018, with the Hawks striking out 386 batters as a group, the most in a single season in program history. He mentored Dan Klepchick to MAAC Rookie of the Year after the right-hander was named the league's Rookie of the Week six times in addition to one Pitcher of the Week accolade. Following the season, Klepchick was named a Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball News. He also helped Austin Counsellor pitch to a 0.79 ERA with five saves, allowing just four earned runs all season. Ryan Lillie joined Klepchick on the MAAC All-Tournament Team, with Lillie fanning six in 3.1 innings in an elimination game.

Kirkpatrick's first season in 2017 saw the MU staff win 20 games, with Kyle Ajjan earning a MAAC Pitcher of the Week honor after tossing a shutout at Siena. Reliever Ben Hoffman finished his senior year strong, eventually signing a professional contract with the Somerset Patriots.

“Brady is a great addition to our program,” said Ehehalt. “He will definitely be an asset to our program and a great ambassador of our University. Brady has a very good baseball mind and has been a part of some excellent programs as a player and a coach.”

As a coach, Kirkpatrick spent two summers with the Mountain West College Summer League, both in 2015 as an assistant and 2016 as a head coach. In 2016, he spent the season back at San Diego as a graduate assistant, dealing with the pitching staff, scouting reports and working developmental camps. He spent a short time at the University of Rochester as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator before coming to Monmouth.

Kirkpatrick pitched collegiately for three years at the University of Maryland before finishing up his career at San Diego. With the Terrapins, Kirkpatrick started 11 games a junior and held opponents to a .256 batting average, third on the team, after pitching to a 3.04 ERA as a sophomore. In total, he tossed 169 innings as a Terp, striking out 122. He was part of the 2014 South Carolina regional championship team as well as the first Super Regional Team in Maryland history. He spent the summer of 2012 pitching for the Brewster Whitecaps in the Cape Cod Summer League, throwing to a 3.51 ERA.

Kirkpatrick graduated from Maryland with a degree in criminology and criminal justice, and from San Diego with a master’s degree in global business leadership. He is a 2010 graduate of Marist Catholic High School in Eugene, Oregon.
