QUICKLY: Versatile forward who will have two seasons of eligibility left after transferring to West Long Branch from the University of Rhode Island. 

SENIOR (2011): Battled through injury to play six games, including two starts, in his senior season … After missing nearly two months due to injury, Puranen returned to spark the Hawks in their NEC and NCAA Tournament runs … Successfully converted his opportunity in a penalty kick shootout as the Hawks advanced past Stony Brook in the NCAA Tournament First Round.

JUNIOR (2010): Played in 13 games, earning the starting assignment on four occasions in his first season at MU… Despite being slowed by injuries, still finished second on the team with five goals (on just 13 shots) on the year… Recorded three game-winning goals, which tied him for second on the side… Scored his first two goals in a Monmouth uniform in the Hawks’ 3-1 nonconference win over American (9/12)… Added a marker in MU’s 3-0 league win over Bryant (10/24)… Tallied the game-winner in the Hawks’ 2-1 Northeast Conference win over Saint Francis (Pa.0 [10/29]…  Scored against Quinnipiac (11/7).

SOPHOMORE (2009): He started 18 of 20 matches last season and was the Rams' leading scorer, compiling five goals and three assists.

FRESHMAN (2008): Earned All-Atlantic 10 Second Team honors and was named to the league's All-Rookie squad, while also earning a spot on the 2008 A-10 All-Championship team... Claimed NSCAA All-Mid Atlantic Region Third Team recognition, leading the team in scoring with 18 points on nine goals - two of which were game-winners.

SCHOLASTIC: Voted the top Under-17 player in Central Finland after his performance in the Regions Championship Tournament... Scored seven goals and had five assists for TPS in the Finnish U-19 Premier League, and also recently completed a year-long mandatory service in the Finnish national military.
