Biography

Jessellyn Jackson comes Monmouth as a player versatile enough for Coach Sullivan to consider for several different positions. An all-around athlete, she lettered and started in three different sports for the Cougars of Colts Neck High School. As a senior, Jackson captained her basketball and softball squads. She played her travel ball most recently with the NJ Intensity.

While at Colts Neck, she was used as a utility player her first two years, and settled in at shortstop for her final two seasons. A utility player for the Blue and White, Jackson shows good promise in the middle infield and has the arm strength and footspeed to play a steady outfield as well. Her offensive skills have improved through fall workouts. Her hitting will need to become more consistent to earn regular at-bats in her first collegiate campaign.

One of the Hawks? strongest students, Jackson is challenging herself with the Monmouth Honors Program. She was a member of the National Honor Society and the Math Honor Society in high school.

Jessellyn chose Monmouth over Towson (MD) and other NJ schools. She is the daughter of Randolph and June Jackson and is studying biology.
