Monmouth Women’s Soccer’s Names its 2026 Team Captains

Seniors Emily De Almeida, Loren Gehret and Cadi Hoke will lead the Hawks this season

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Monmouth Women's Soccer Fifth-Year Head Coach Kylee Flynn has announced seniors Emily De Almeida, Loren Gehret and Cadi Hoke as team captains for the upcoming 2026 campaign.

De Almeida and Gehret served in the role a season ago, while Hoke will wear the armband for the first time in her four-year career. The three captains were decided by a team vote earlier this week.

"Our team is fortunate to have a locker room full of players who lead in different ways," said Flynn. "Leadership isn't just about wearing the armband, it's about consistently setting the standard through your work ethic, accountability, and commitment to the team."

De Almeida, a two-time team captain, has been a constant presence in Monmouth's midfield over the past two seasons, starting all 38 games the team played between 2024 and 2025. The Brick, N.J., standout has three goals in each of the past two seasons and has recorded four career assists. She played 1481 minutes last season, third most on the team, and was credited with the game-winning goal in the team's victory at Towson last October.

Also earning the captain designation for the second year in a row, Gehret has been a strong offensive contributor since stepping on campus in 2023. After tallying five goals and three assists in her freshman campaign, earning her a spot on the CAA All-Rookie Team and the All-CAA Third Team, she produced a five-score, five-assist season in 2024. Last year, she led the team in assists with five to go along with a pair of scores while playing over 1000 minutes.

Hoke becomes a first-time captain in 2026 after establishing herself as a full-time starter for the first time in 2025, anchoring a stout Monmouth defense that posted seven shutouts. The Wyomissing, Pa., product led the Hawks with 1604 minutes played a season ago and started all 18 of the team's games. She played a full 90 minutes in each of the team's final 17 contest after appearing in just six games with no starts over her first two seasons in West Long Branch.

Flynn continued, "We're excited to have these three represent our program and help lead a group that has high expectations for the season."

The Hawks will open the 2026 season on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at home against Manhattan. Admission to Hesse Field on the Great Lawn is free of charge and the 6 p.m. kickoff will stream live on FloCollege.
