WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth University men's tennis head coach Chris Leicht announced the addition of five talented players to his roster for the 2026-27 season. 
 
Joining the Hawks are James Anzalone, Santiago Ledesma, Eñaut Garcia, Axel Engström and Aidan Miller.
 
"The coaching staff is thrilled to welcome these five new recruits to Monmouth University," said Leicht. "Their talent, experience, hard work and commitment will be a great addition to our tennis program." 
 
Anzalone is a freshman who joined the Hawks from Staten Island, New York. He attended St. Joseph's by the Sea High School. He won the Staten Island Championships twice. Anzalone has earned two career ITF Points and trains at the Brunswick Hills Tennis Club. Anzalone had a career-high of 10.01 in the UTR Singles Rating. He intends to major in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Real Estate at Monmouth.
 
Ledesma is a junior who comes to West Long Branch from Mexico City, Mexico. He made previous stops at Cameron University and Lamar University. Last year at Cameron, he went 9-5 while playing primarily third singles and 15-2 while playing second doubles. His freshman year at Lamar, he went 9-6 in singles action and had eight doubles wins. Ledesma had a career-high of a 11.74 in the UTR Singles Rating. He intends to major in accounting at Monmouth.
 
Garcia is a junior who joined the Hawks from Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain after spending the last two seasons at Hofstra. He had 12 wins in singles as a freshman and eight in doubles. Garcia won the regional tournament for both singles and teams in the under 12s, 14s twice, 16s and 18s. He represented Basque Country in the Spanish National tournaments both singles and teams. Garcia had a career-high of 11.57 in the UTR Singles Rating. He intends to major in accounting at Monmouth.
 
Engström is a junior who comes to West Long Branch from Visby, Sweden. He spent the previous two seasons at Rider University. As a sophomore he earned seven singles wins and 11 doubles win while helping the Broncs win the MAAC title and advance to the NCAA Tournament. As a freshman he had 11 singles wins and six doubles wins. He had a career-high of 11.25 in the UTR Singles Rating. He intends to major in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance.
 
Miller is a junior who joined the Hawks from Los Angeles, California. He previously played at Stevens Institute of Technology. There he was the 2024-25 MAC Freedom Rookie of the Year and an All-MAC Freedom Fist Team selection. Miller went 17-6 in singles play and 12-4 in doubles action. Miller had a career-high of 10.96 in the UTR Singles Rating. He intends to major in Computer Science.
