West Long Branch, NJ — FloSports, in partnership with College Sports Communicators (CSC), announced its finalists for the inaugural FloCollege CSC Spotlight Award Wednesday with Monmouth Associate Athletic Director for Broadcast Production Andrew Kurtz named as a finalist.
"It's very exciting to be spotlighted for the work the Monmouth Digital Network has done," Kurtz said. "Just being a finalist is such an accomplishment. My coworker Anne Toner and all the Monmouth University students that work for the Monmouth Digital Network are the reason why we are able to put on such high-quality broadcasts. I am extremely fortunate to have such an amazing crew and the MDN team should be proud of this recognition."
The FloCollege CSC Spotlight Award was designed to honor outstanding College Sports Communicators across FloCollege partner conferences and celebrate CSC staff who go above and beyond to elevate their student-athletes, athletic programs and institutions through strategic storytelling, advocacy and a commitment to excellence.
"We are incredibly proud to have our broadcast operation recognized by FloCollege as one of the premier productions in the CAA," said Monmouth Director of Athletics Jen Sansevero. "This recognition is a testament to the outstanding work of our communications, creative, and game operations staffs, as well as the talented students who gain hands-on experience producing high-quality broadcasts at Monmouth.
"This achievement would not have been possible without the generosity of the Parton family, whose support helped make the Parton Broadcast Studio a reality. Their investment has provided Monmouth with a state-of-the-art platform to produce high-quality content while creating meaningful experiential learning opportunities for our students."
The finalists represented the 18 FloCollege partner conferences from the 2025-26 season, including the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) which the Hawks joined in July of 2022. The CAA had struck an agreement to expand their partnership with FloSports in 2021, making them the exclusive digital platform for live and on-demand coverage. Since joining the CAA, arguably one of the top conferences in the FCS and partnering with FloSports, Monmouth Athletics has expanded its reach both nationally and globally.
"Our partnership with FloSports has been instrumental in expanding the reach of Monmouth Athletics," Sansevero said. "Through their platform, our student-athletes, coaches, and programs are viewed by audiences across the country and around the world. Together, the Parton family's vision and the FloSports' platform have helped elevate the Monmouth Athletics brand, strengthen recruiting efforts, engage alumni and supporters, and showcase the remarkable accomplishments of our student-athletes on a global stage."
Kurtz, whose been with the Hawks since 2015, has continued to enhance the production and broadcast for Monmouth Athletics throughout his tenure as he serves as the producer on all broadcasts produced by the Monmouth Digital Network.
"FloSports has given the Monmouth University fan base the opportunity to view our games all on one platform," Kurtz added. "Not only can Hawks fans watch us anywhere in the United States, but they can also watch us anywhere outside the United States. This is a huge plus for all our foreign student-athlete's family members who can't attend every game. This is another reason why we put so much into every single broadcast. We want to provide the Monmouth fans all over the world with a high-quality experience."
Kurtz was the lone finalist for Division I, but was joined by Division II's American International College, Cal State San Bernardino, Carson-Newman, Daemen University, Ferris State, Trevecca Nazarene University, University of Findley and West Texas A&AM, along with Division III's Case Western Reserve, George Fox, Heidelberg, Keene State, LeTourneau University, MIT, Moravian University, Occidental and Washington & Lee.
The winner of the FloCollege CSC Spotlight Award will be announced at NACDA and celebrated at a FloCollege reception June 9.
