PRINCETON, N.J. – Three hitless innings from
Jake Danyluk helped the Monmouth University baseball team close out a 10-8 win at Princeton University on Wednesday afternoon.

The Hawks wasted little time in getting on the scoreboard in this one.
Sam Saucke singled on the first pitch he saw. Saucke then stole second and moved to third on an error. He crossed the plate on a wild pitch.

Monmouth added to its lead in the third as
Simmi Whitehill's bases loaded single scored two and made it a 3-0 game.

Princeton sent eight men to the plate and scored four times to take a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the third.

The Hawks answered in the top of the fourth. A sac fly from
Wyatt Hunt tied the game at 4-4.
Chris Walsh then lifted his sixth home run of the year to left which scored Saucke and gave the Hawks a 6-4 lead.Â

Monmouth put three runs on the board in the top of the sixth and pushed its lead to 9-4. Walsh and
Nick Lovarco had RBI singles in the frame while Walsh also scored on an error in the inning.

Princeton scored four times in the bottom half of the sixth and made it a 9-8 game.

The Hawks tacked on a run in the bottom of the seventh as Saucke's sac fly scored
Kevin Fedoruk.

Danyluk allowed just two runners (one in the seventh and one in the ninth) via the walk over the final three innings to close out the win.

- Jake Danyluk threw three hitless innings to close out the game and earned the save. Danyluk is the fifth different Hawk to record a save this season. Â
