Monmouth Celebrates 2025-26 Year at Athletics Awards Ceremony

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ - The Monmouth University Athletics Department recognized the achievements of its student-athletes with its annual Student-Athlete Awards, which were announced Tuesday inside Pollack Theater.
 
Among the prominent awards given were the Joan Martin Award, Bill Boylan Award, Parker Award and the Kelsey Award. In addition, Most Valuable Player Awards and Coaches Award winners were named for each team, as well as the Team Physicians' and Sports Medicine Award and Strength and Conditioning awards.
 
The Joan Martin Award, presented annually to the senior student-athletes who have shown dedication to their team while staying the course through adversity, was given to Grace Curtin (Lacrosse) and Charlie Sasso (Football).

Nominees for the male Joan Martin Award included Charlie Sasso (Football), Sean Cadigan (Soccer), Niko Ferrante (Cross Country), Alexander Kislenko (Indoor Track and Field), Evan Niedrowski (Outdoor Track and Field), Jack Dawson (Swimming), Nick Teets (Lacrosse), Aidan Bretschneider (Baseball).
  
Nominees for the female Joan Martin Award included Katy Corcoran (Field Hockey), Kelly DeGaetano (Soccer), Jaclyn Martinelli (Cross Country), Jess Cervenak (Indoor Track and Field), Carli Sorvino (Outdoor Track and Field), Caitlin Newsome (Rowing), Alexis Andrews (Basketball), Kaitlynn Place (Softball), Grace Curtin (Lacrosse), Marissa Cosentini (Bowling).
 
The Bill Boylan Award, presented annually to the senior student-athletes who demonstrate the traits of leadership, sportsmanship, scholarship and athletic ability that were so constant in the career of Bill Boylan, was awarded to Ella Farrelly (Basketball) and JT Cornelius (Football).
  
Nominees for the male Bill Boylan Award included JT Cornelius (Football), Patrick Osiecki (Soccer), Tennessee Tremain (Cross Country), Rondé Washington (Indoor Track and Field), D'Maari Brown (Outdoor Track and Field), Owen Dyson (Swimming), Matt Dollive (Lacrosse), Alex Martinez Sanz (Tennis), Ethan Lee (Golf), Jack Collins (Basketball), Colin Ruddy (Baseball). 
 
Nominees for the female Bill Boylan Award included Claire Campen (Field Hockey), Summer Reimet (Soccer), Brianna Jucewicz (Cross Country), Hailey Guerrieri (Indoor Track and Field), Olivia Smith (Outdoor Track and Field), Marissa McKenzie (Rowing), Jenna Pryne (Swimming), Ella Farrelly (Basketball), Alissa Eimont (Softball), Gia Mitchell (Lacrosse), Hana McKinney (Tennis), Desiré Villalobos (Bowling).
 
The Parker Award, presented annually to the teams with the highest grade-point average, went to the field hockey and men's tennis programs for the spring 2025 semester and women's cross country and men's tennis for the fall 2025 semester.
 
The Kelsey Award, presented to the student-athlete with the highest individual GPA, was awarded to Hannah Parker (Swimming) and Caden Kesselring (Lacrosse).
 
The Academic Resilience Award was given to Ximena Cano (Tennis) and Cole Dawkins (Lacrosse).
 
In addition, Divine Dibula (Basketball) and Luke Schabel (Football) were named the Athletic Performance Award winners, while Anna Moors (Field Hockey) and Charlie Sasso (Football) were given the Team Physicians' and Sports Medicine Award.
