Monmouth Falls on the Road to Rutgers

Lauren Rismani had three points on two assists and a goal

PISCATAWAY, N.J.  – The Monmouth women's lacrosse team fell on the road to Rutgers, 20-5, on Wednesday evening at SHI Stadium in Piscataway, N.J.

The Scarlet Knights scored in the first minute and never looked back, handing the Hawks (3-1, 0-0 CAA) their first loss of the season.

Rutgers scored the game's first seven goals over the first 13 minutes before Marlaina Grimm found the back of the net for the Hawks' first tally of the evening. Lauren Rismani fed Grace Curtin for a pair of second-quarter goals, but the Scarlet Knights added to their lead, going into halftime up 13-3.

The Knights amassed a 20-3 lead before Rismani hit twine midway through the final stanza. Sophia Lymberis scored a late goal off Julia West's first assist of the season, but Rutgers was able to close out the 20-5 victory.

  • Lauren Rismani had two assists and a goal, giving her 11 helpers over the last three games. The graduate student has a team best 19 points on 14 assists and five goals.
  • Rismani has at least three points in all four games this season.
  • Grace Curtin had a pair of goals, giving her six on the season.
  • Freshman Marlaina Grimm scored her fifth goal of the season.
  • Olivia Castaldo picked up an assist, earning her second helper of 2026. She is up to four points on the young season.
  • Sophia Lymberis scored her seventh goal of the season, second most on the team behind Shea Berigan's 10 tallies.
  • Julia West picked up her first point in a Monmouth uniform, recording an assist against Rutgers.
