WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Monmouth women's basketball junior GiGi Gamble was named the CAA Co-Player of the Week, as announced Monday afternoon.
Gamble earned Monmouth's first weekly award of the season after an outstanding week that saw the Hawks extend their winning streak to seven games and open CAA play at 2-0. Monmouth's seven-game win streak matches its longest since the 2023-24 season.
The Somerset, N.J. native averaged 27.3 points per game over three contests. Gamble began the week with a game-high 27 points on 10-of-17 shooting in a 74-40 victory over Georgian Court on Dec. 29.
She followed that performance with a sensational outing against Elon, scoring a career-high 30 points on 11-of-19 shooting in a 77-62 win. Gamble also knocked down a career-high six triples and added three assists in the victory.
Gamble capped the week with another standout effort in a 61-55 win over North Carolina A&T, pouring in a game-high 25 points on 9-of-17 shooting as the Hawks leaned on her offense down the stretch.
Gamble and the Hawks return to action on Friday, hosting UNCW in their CAA home opener at 2 p.m. The game will be broadcast on FloCollege.
