WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Summer Reimet's two second-half goals propelled the Monmouth women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Binghamton on Sunday at Hesse Field on the Great Lawn.
After a stalemate in the first 45 minutes, the Hawks (2-2-0), who have won two straight games, broke through in the second half to earn their first shutout of the season. Freshman
Marie Bouge continued the fast start to her rookie campaign, adding an assist on Sunday, while
Loren Gehret also earned a helper against the Bearcats (2-1-0).
Both teams traded chances in the first half, but neither was able to break through. Monmouth netminder
Tallulah Miller made two of her five saves in the opening 15 minutes, keeping the game scoreless early.
Alex Dreihaup and Gehret each put shots on cage over the following 16 minutes of action, but Bearcats keeper Rebecca Kessler was up to the challenge. The Hawks had the momentum at the end of the half, as Gehret and
Chloe Messer each forced Kessler to make saves in the waning minutes.
After a scoreless opening half, the Bearcats had the early chance in the second period, forcing Miller to make a strong save off a corner kick seven minutes in. The Monmouth goalkeeper made two more stops in the 64
th and 65
th minutes.
The Monmouth offense took over from there. In the 69
th minute, Reimet forced a steal in her attacking third off a throw-in, took three dribbles towards the middle of the field and buried a left-footed snipe into the top-left corner, breaking the deadlock and giving the Hawks a 1-0 lead.
Eight minutes later, Gehret stripped the ball from a Binghamton midfielder. The junior found Bogue, who played a perfect through ball into the box for Reimet. The CAA Preseason Player of the Year took a touch and buried her second of the game into the side netting, putting the Hawks up 2-0.
The defense stood strong over the final 20 minutes, holding the Bearcats to no shots on net over the final stretch and closing out the first home win of 2025 for the Hawks.

Notes:
- Reimet's two goals give her three on the season, all within the last two games. She leads the Hawks in goals, points (seven), shots (11) and shots on goal (nine).
- The two goals push Reimet into a three-way tie for 14th place on the program's all-time scoring list with 25 career goals. She also moved into 19th place on Monmouth's all-time points list with 63.
- Sunday was the eighth time in Reimet's career that she tallied at least three points. It was her fourth two-goal performance in the last two seasons.
- Marie Bogue earned the primary assist on the Hawks' second goal of the game, picking up a helper for the second straight game. She is tied with Loren Garet, who also picked up an assist on Reimet's second score, for the team lead with two assists.
- Tallulah Miller earned the first shutout of her Monmouth career, picking up the Hawks' first clean sheet since defeating Hampton, 2-0, on Oct. 27, 2024.
- Monmouth improves to 2-0-1 against Binghamton, earning its first-ever win over the Bearcats on home turf.
- Cadi Hoke, Grace Notarfrancesco and freshman Alex Dreihaup all played 90 minutes on defense for Monmouth, helping to hold Binghamton scoreless.
