May 16, 2025

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Monmouth University Women's Basketball has announced the hiring of Julian Muñoz as the program's Director of Player Development. Muñoz joins the Hawks after spending the past three seasons as a key contributor to the University of South Florida women's basketball staff, where he served as a graduate assistant and previously as a student manager.

Muñoz brings extensive experience in player development, scouting, and video analysis to Monmouth. While at USF, he played a significant role in designing and executing individualized skill development workouts for both guards and post players, focusing on game-like situations to enhance player performance. He was instrumental in preparing former players for professional opportunities overseas and actively participated in on-court drills, including live one-on-one sessions to sharpen decision-making under pressure. His background also includes film breakdown, opponent scouting, and drawing up team plays to support game preparation and player learning.

In addition to his on-court contributions, Muñoz demonstrated strong leadership at USF by overseeing team managers and practice players, while managing all equipment and logistics for road games. He holds a Master of Arts in Physical Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of South Florida.

"We're thrilled to bring Julian on board and welcome him to West Long Branch," Head Coach Cait Wetmore said. "He's young, hungry and passionate about player development. His on-court skill work will be an asset to the development of our backcourt."
