West Long Branch, NJ - Monmouth came out firing on all cylinders in a runaway victory over MAAC member Rider on Wednesday at Hesse Field. 

The Hawks accounted for 15 of the first 16 goals scored during the mid-week non-conference contest, eventually settling for a 16-8 win. Monmouth scored on 12 of their 19 first-half shots with three players —Caroline Brennan, Shea Berigan, Maddie Flynn—  recording hat tricks over the first 30:00.

Flynn scored all four of her goals and added an assist in the first half. Brennan, who opened the scoring 54 seconds into the game, tallied three first-half goals on three shots. She also logged two assists on the day.

Berigan, who has multiple goals in six consecutive games, continued her month-long tear, making Rider the latest victim. After three goals in the first half, Berigan's fourth extended Monmouth's lead to 14-1 with 9:04 remaining in the third quarter. It was her fourth four-goal performance this season. 

Midfielders Danielle McNeely and Sophia Lymberis also found the back of the net in the victory. The former registered a game-high three assists. 

The visiting Broncs made a late push with six fourth-quarter goals, but it was not nearly enough. Halting Rider's run, Hawks' freshman Allyson Ryan scored her first career goal on her first shot in the game's final minute.

Monmouth goalie Katie Sullivan earned her second win of the season, making 11 saves while facing 14 shots. Six different Hawks caused turnovers for what was a stifling defensive effort.
