Hampton, VA – Monmouth University Men's Lacrosse shattered a school record for goals scored in a game, running past Hampton University Saturday afternoon, 23-4 to earn its first CAA victory of the season. Six Hawks scored their first goals of the season, and
Ty Caffarelli led the way with three goals.
Monmouth scored the first five, including three in the first 4:10, with five different Hawks netting one to take a 5-1 lead after the opening quarter. MU then scored the next eight, including seven in the second, and led it 12-1 at the break.
Will Hohn Jr. opened the scoring seven seconds into the second half, his first of the year, as MU tallied seven more to lead 19-1 after three.
Brady Brown's first career goal in the third set the school record for goals in a game with the 18
th of the day. Monmouth finished with a 5-1 fourth quarter in the dominant 24-4 victory.
