Monmouth Suffers One-Goal CAA Road Loss to Campbell

Buies Creek, NC - Monmouth finished on the short side of an 11-10 decision in a CAA women's lacrosse game on the road against Campbell.

Danielle McNeely, Shea Berigan and Maddie Flynn were all multi-goal scorers for the Hawks with McNeely recording her first hat trick since the season opener.

Monmouth scored four of the game's first five goals, but Campbell roared back by out-scoring the visitors by a 7-0 margin over the second 15:00. The Hawks trailed by as many as four, but turned an 8-4 halftime deficit into a 9-8 lead with 8:23 remaining in the third quarter.

After the three wild swings, the game was tied at 9-9 heading into the fourth quarter. Campbells Sam Bischoff broke the stalemate by converting a man-up opportunity 49 seconds into the final period.

Monmouth senior Caroline Brennan found Berigan for the equalizer with 8:19 remaining, but Campbell answered with a Rasa Welsh goal 1:12 later.

Neither team found the back of the net over the final 7:07 in Buies Creek.
