West Long Branch, NJ – Madison Durr has been named the Lou Henson National Player of the Week after scoring 33.5 points per game in two Monmouth wins while going 33-33 from the foul line.
 
Durr scored a career-high 40 points, an OceanFirst Bank Center record, in the Hawks double overtime win over Drexel Thursday before going for 27 in another win Saturday over Delaware. He scored the eighth 40-point game in program history, and joined Abdi Bashir in becoming the first two Monmouth players to have scored 30 points in the same game. It marked the second 40-point game under King Rice and first since 2/13/17 vs. Siena (Justin Robinson). Durr set the OceanFirst Bank Center scoring record and the single-game record for made free throws with 19. Durr had the most free throw makes without a miss in program history (19-19), and it also marked the most free throw makes without a miss in the NCAA this season. Durr notched the 17th 40-point game in the NCAA this year, and his 19-19 from the line signified the most FTM without a miss in CAA history while also being the second most FTM in a game in CAA history (David Robinson, 1986). Durr became the 26th player in NCAA history with 19+ FTM without a miss, and this was the most FTM without a miss in the NCAA since Holland Woods of Portland St. vs. Montana on 1/30/20 was 21-21.He followed that with 27 points on 14-14 from the line in a win over Delaware, and his 33 consecutive made free throws is a program record.
 
Durr is the first Hawk since Justin Robinson in December 2016 to earn Lou Henson National Player of the Week. Robinson was the recipient of the 2017 Lou Henson National Player of the Year Award, while George Papas and Xander Rice have appeared on the Lou Henson Award Midseason Watch List.
