BOSTON – The Monmouth University men's lacrosse team put forth a strong effort on the road against Boston University but was unable to overcome an early deficit, falling 15-6 at Nickerson Field on Friday afternoon.
The Hawks battled throughout, with senior attackman
Connor Gorman leading the charge with two goals, marking his second straight multi-goal performance to open the season.

Bradley Wyckoff, and
Bobby Keane each added goals for the Blue and White.
After falling behind early, Monmouth got on the board in the second quarter when Gorman capitalized on an extra-man opportunity to put the Hawks on the board. Schneider netted another goal late in the half, sending Monmouth into the break down 10-2.
The Hawks' defense made key adjustments after halftime, holding BU to just two goals in the third quarter while goalkeeper Tommy Heller totaled a game-high 15 saves. Monmouth's offense got goals from Ketchen, Wyckoff, and Keane, in an evenly played fourth quarter.
Game Notes
The game was the first ever meeting between the two teams.
The Hawks wore their midnight navy helmets with midnight navy jerseys and shorts.
