Andrews nets 1,000th Career Point in Monmouth’s 50-46 OT Win vs. Yale

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Alexis Andrews  netted her 1,000th career point as Monmouth women's basketball earned a 50–46 overtime victory over Yale on Thursday morning at OceanFirst Bank Center on Field Trip Day in front of 1,061 fans. 

Yale rallied late, forcing overtime after the teams were tied at 42 at the end of regulation. In the extra period, Andrews again delivered at the free-throw line, while Monmouth held Yale to just four points to secure the victory.The Hawks outscored Yale 8–4 in overtime to seal the win. 

Andrews scored the 1,000th point of her collegiate career on her first two points of the game, calmly knocking down a pair of free throws with 3:48 remaining in the opening quarter to join the Hawks' 1,000-point club.

The senior guard finished with a team-high 17 points, adding six rebounds and two assists while playing all 45 minutes, helping Monmouth improve to 5–4 on the season.

The Hawks led 10–9 after the first quarter and were tied 20–20 at halftime before pulling ahead in the third behind a 16-point frame. Monmouth built its largest lead of the game at nine late in the third quarter following a three-pointer from Andrews.
