LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Monmouth women's basketball team fell to No. 24 Kentucky, 104-46, Thursday night at historic Memorial Coliseum in the Hawks' first road test of the season.

After Fatumata Djalo knocked down a free throw 90 seconds into the game, Monmouth struggled to find its rhythm offensively, not recording its first field goal until 1:43 remained in the opening quarter—a three-pointer by Alexis Andrews.

Andrews led the Hawks with a season-high 12 points, playing all 40 minutes in the effort.

Kentucky used a 19-0 run in the first quarter—their largest of the game—to take a commanding 24-4 lead after the opening frame. While the Wildcats connected on just two threes in the first quarter, their perimeter shooting caught fire as the game went on, hitting five three-pointers in each of the second, third, and fourth quarters.

The Wildcats opened the second quarter on a 9-0 run and continued to roll offensively, scoring a quarter-high 31 points in the period to take a 55-18 lead into halftime.

Kentucky's hot shooting carried into the third quarter, where they shot a blistering 68.8% (11-of-16) from the field. Despite Monmouth holding the Wildcats to a quarter-low 20 points in the fourth, Kentucky maintained control and extended its largest lead in the final seconds of play.
