POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — Monmouth women's basketball dominated overtime, outscoring Marist 15–7 in the final five minutes to secure a 72–63 win over the Red Foxes.

Overtime became the Gigi Gamble show, as the junior guard scored all 10 of her points in the extra period. After missing the potential game-winning three-pointer in regulation with 1.6 seconds left, she found redemption by knocking down a triple to open overtime and never looked back.

Marist tied the game at 60 with 4:12 left in OT, but Alexis Andrews gave the Hawks a 63–62 lead at the free-throw line, and Monmouth would never relinquish it, finishing on a 9–2 run.

Four different Hawks scored in double figures, led by Alexis Davis, who recorded her third double-double of the season with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Andrews (14 points), Divine Dibula (12 points), and Gamble (10 points) also reached double digits.

Monday's contest was tightly played throughout, featuring seven ties and five lead changes. Monmouth led for 33:45 of game time, while Marist held the lead for just 4:59.

Marist ended the first quarter with a 14–13 advantage after Jade Piddock hit a turnaround jumper as time expired.

Andrews gave Monmouth a 16–14 lead with 9:10 left in the second quarter, and the Hawks never trailed again in regulation. Monmouth outscored Marist 15–8 in the second quarter to take a 28–22 lead into halftime.

Ella Farrelly knocked down a three-pointer with 6:45 remaining in the third quarter, putting the Hawks up 35–24 — their largest lead of the game. Marist trimmed the deficit to seven by the end of the third.

Both teams traded baskets in the fourth, with Marist outscoring Monmouth 21–14 to force overtime. The Hawks led by three with seven seconds left before Lexi Tarul hit the game-tying three-pointer with 1.6 seconds remaining.
