PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Eryk Dymora made four saves and the Monmouth University men's soccer team scored a goal in each half to defeat Temple 2-0 on Thursday night.

The Hawks and Owls battled back and forth over the first 20 minutes of the contest as Dymora had a nice save to keep Temple off the board.

Monmouth struck first in the 24th minute as Patrick Osiecki made a long run into the offensive end and rifled a low shot into the net for a 1-0 advantage.

The two sides continued to pressure each other as Dymora made two more big saves in the first half to keep Temple off the board. Monmouth carried a 1-0 advantage into the halftime break.

The Hawks added to their advantage in the 55th minute as Brendan Tansey played a ball to Erik Reis in the box. Reis fired it home for his first goal of the season and a 2-0 advantage.

The Monmouth defense limited Temple to just four shots over the final 30 minutes of the match, including one that Dymora saved.

The Hawks claimed a 2-0 road victory while improving to 2-0 on the year.
