Monmouth Releases 2024-25 Non-Conference Schedule

August 19, 2024

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The Monmouth University Women's Basketball 2024-25 non-conference schedule went official Monday afternoon, and it includes 11 games versus schools from the Ivy League, Atlantic 10, Big Ten, NEC, MAAC, Patriot, and America East conferences.

"This team has a lot of new faces, and we looking to our non-conference schedule to continue to cultivate chemistry and prepare us for the CAA," first-year head coach Cait Wetmore said. "Our players have put a lot of work in this summer to lay the foundation for this new team. We are excited to build upon that as we have some tough opponents slated who will challenge us."

The Hawks open the season with two Ivy League opponents, with opening night coming on the road for the sixth straight season. Yale will host Wetmore's squad at 5:00 p.m. on Nov. 4.

The first of five non-conference home games will be against Brown on Saturday, Nov. 9. It will be the third meeting in the last three years and fourth all-time, with all three being decided by one possession.

Monmouth then embarks on a four-game road trip with stops at George Mason (Nov. 12), UMass (Nov. 15), Penn State (Nov. 18), and Sacred Heart (Nov. 21). This season will mark the first time the Hawks meet the Patriots since 2004, while Penn State finds themselves on the Hawks' schedule for the first time since 2009.

The Hawks then come back home for a three-game stretch that features Lafayette on Dec. 1 sandwiched by two in-state and former MAAC foes in Saint Peter's (Nov. 26) and the 49th overall meeting with Rider (Dec. 5). Monmouth defeated both the Leopards and Broncs on the road last season.

The final road non-conference game will come at NJIT on Dec. 9, as Monmouth looks to improve to a perfect 5-0 versus the Highlanders all-time. Wetmore and the Hawks will wrap up non-conference play versus American at the OceanFirst Bank Center on Dec. 21, who was a victim of Monmouth's record-setting 13-game road win streak last season.
