Incoming Freshman Rebecca Milon Joins Monmouth

July 16, 2024

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Rebecca Milon has signed to play for the Monmouth Women's Basketball Team for the 2024-25 season, Head Coach Cait Wetmore announced Tuesday morning.

Milon is the first incoming freshman in this year's recruiting class, marking Wetmore's first high school signee.

"Rebecca is a great addition to our program," Wetmore said. "She had a successful high school career and has not even begun to scratch the surface of her potential. Her athleticism and versatility will be a great addition for us."

Milon flashes great physical attributes at 5'11" with speed and explosiveness that makes her a scoring threat from all three levels in the offensive game. During her 2023-24 club season with Capital Courts Academy, she averaged over six points per contest while shooting 42.0% from the field in 15 regular season games. Milon put in her best performance of last year in a win over Fort Erie International Academy where she scored 18 points with 10 of them coming from the foul stripe. She has proven to be a presence defensively, with outbursts of five and three blocks versus Niagara Prep and Crestwood Preparatory College, respectively. In her lone 2023 Fall Showcase performance, she dropped 15 points and hit a three-pointer en route to her team's 70-point win.

The addition of Milon gives the Hawks six players from north of the border and fourth from the province of Ontario. The forward plans to major in exercise science at Monmouth with a great track record of academic success in high school, being an honor roll member multiple times.
