WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Monmouth University Women's Basketball Head Coach Cait Wetmore announced the hiring of Alex Frazier as the program's new assistant coach on Monday.
"Alex is the perfect addition to round out my coaching staff," Wetmore said. "She is an energetic and hungry coach with a high-level work ethic. Her leadership mindset and passion for the game make her a fantastic fit here at Monmouth."
Frazier joins the Hawks after serving as an assistant coach at Appalachian State for the previous two seasons. During her time with the Mountaineers, Frazier was a key member of a staff that won 28 games including a pair in the Sun Belt Tournament. She brings expertise in recruiting, scouting, player development, and community service initiatives.
Before her time in Boone, North Carolina, Frazier spent a season each as a graduate assistant, assistant director of basketball operations, and director of recruiting at East Carolina University. As a player for the Pirates from 2015-19, Frazier served as a three-year captain, ECU's Defensive Player of the Year in 2018, and was the team MVP in 2019. She finished her collegiate career with 112 games played and is just one of 13 players in school history to lead the team in assists during multiple seasons.
The Lawrenceville, Georgia native graduated from ECU in 2018 with a bachelor's degree as a health fitness specialist. She later completed a master's degree in sports management in 2020.
