West Long Branch, N.J. – 10 different Hawks scored, and five had multiple goals as Monmouth University Men's Lacrosse topped Hampton University Saturday, 15-4 to move to 5-5 overall and 2-2 in CAA play.
Connor Gorman and
Brendan Dundas each tallied three points for MU.
MU got off to a quick start with goals from Gorman and
Luke Cole, and after a Hampton tally, the Hawks scored the next five, with Gorman and Cole adding their second each during that stretch to make it 7-1 at the end of the opening quarter. Hampton broke up the run, only to see Monmouth add three more in a row to take a 10-2 lead into the break.
Hampton netted the only two goals of the third quarter to make it 10-4, but Monmouth scored all five of the fourth-quarter markers, including the first career goals for
Alex DeBenedictis and
Riley Chester, who finished with two.
