HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – The Monmouth University women's lacrosse team dropped its CAA matchup against Hofstra by a 22-7 decision on Friday night at James M. Shuart Stadium.
Hofstra continued its unbeaten run in CAA play and controlled the action from the start. The Pride took a 7-0 lead late in the first quarter and never looked back.
Mya Brock scored a hat trick for the second game in a row, while
Caroline Brennan scored a pair of goals to lead Monmouth's offensive effort.
Game Notes
Monmouth dropped to 5-8 on the season and 1-5 in CAA play.
The Hawks have three games remaining this season.
Hofstra evened the all-time series against the Hawks at a win apiece.
Numbers Crunch
Mya Brock scored her sixth hat trick of the season. Brock has 27 goals on the season and 84 for her career.
Caroline Brennan netted a pair of goals to give her 35 on the season. Brennan also added an assist in the game and she has 40 points on the year.
Danielle McNeely had a goal and an assist. She reached the 20-goal mark for the second time in her career.Â

Ella Spears, Shea Berigan, Taylor Charpentier and Brenna McCafferty each had assists in the game.
Sophia Ianno paced Monmouth with six draw controls.
The Pride held the edge in draw controls, 16-15.
Hofstra outshot Monmouth 33-16, including 27-13 in shots on goal.
