WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The Monmouth University women's tennis team battled a 4-1 win over Marist College on Saturday morning. The Hawks snapped an 11-match dual meet losing streak in the process.
 
The Hawks jumped out an early lead in this one as they took two of the three doubles matches to secure that point. Lenien Jamir and Lauren Landstrom teamed for a 6-2 win at third doubles. Nitika Girish and Madison Mills secured the doubles point with a 7-6 (8) win at first doubles.
 
Marist tied the match with a win at first singles. However, the Hawks had the answer as they claimed victory at sixth, fifth and third singles to clinch the match.
 
Landstrom made it 2-1 in the match with her 6-3, 6-0 victory over Jane Wright at sixth singles. Mills followed with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Vihana Shresta at fifth singles.
 
Hana McKinney then secured the crucial fourth point to win the match with her victory at third singles. McKinney defeated Devon DeSanctis by a 7-5, 6-0 margin.
 
The Hawks led at fourth singles and were tied at second singles but those matches went unfinished as Monmouth had secured the win.
