Hempstead, N.Y. – Monmouth University Men's Lacrosse came back from four goals down late in the third quarter to force overtime, but Hofstra University netted the winner in the extra session in an 8-7 decision Saturday afternoon.
Connor Macrae had four goals for MU and
Tommy Heller made 18 saves in goal.

The teams traded the first six goals, and with things tied at three, Hofstra scored with 18 seconds left in the opening half to take a 4-3 lead into the break. That was the start of a 5-1 run for Hofstra, who led 6-3 and 7-4, the latter with just 2:55 remaining in the third quarter.

MU's comeback started with consecutive goals from Macrae, the second cutting it to 7-6 at 7:27 of the fourth.
Brendan Dundas got things even with 2:57 to go, and
Miles Fang created a turnover in the final seconds of regulation to set Monmouth up with the last shot, but Hofstra got a stop to force overtime. At 2:07 of the extra session, Hofstra's Sam Lutfi won it for the Pride, 8-7.
