WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Towson used a 6-1 run to break a tie early in the fourth quarter to hold off the Monmouth University women's lacrosse team in a 13-9 decision on Friday afternoon at Kessler Stadium.
After falling in an early 4-1 hole, Monmouth battled back to tie the score at seven when
Danielle McNeely scored with 10:39 to play. Towson responded, and never trailed, with a pair of goals over the next few minutes.
Mya Brock pulled the Hawks back within one with under seven minutes, but Towson came back to score four straight and put the game out of reach.
Caroline Brennan and Brock each scored hat tricks in the loss for Monmouth.
