WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Facing a 6-2 deficit early in the second half, Monmouth's women's lacrosse team scored nine unanswered goals to defeat Quinnipiac, 12-7, at a windy and rainy Kessler Stadium.
Mya Brock led Monmouth's offensive charge with a five-goal effort, while
Caroline Brennan and
Sophia Lymberis each scored twice. In goal,
Katie Sullivan finished with 12 saves and held the Bobcats to three goals after the first quarter.
Monmouth outscored Quinnipiac 10-2 in the second half en route to a home-opening victory.
