RICHMOND, Va. – Fifth year forward Taisha Exanor was named the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
 
Exanor led Monmouth to its first road victory of the season and fourth straight win overall with 17 points and 11 rebounds at NJIT last Monday night. Thirteen of her 17 came in the second half, as well as eight of her 11 boards. During a Hawks possession with the game tight in the fourth quarter, she grabbed three consecutive offensive rebounds and got a putback layup to fall to increase the lead to nine, and Monmouth would never look back.
 
The Canadian has been off to a strong start in 2024, ranking second on the team with 12.5 points per game and leading the Hawks with 8.9 rebounds per game – a mark that is third best in the CAA. In addition, she leads Monmouth with 20 made free throws and 1.2 steals per game.
 
Exanor and the Hawks (4-6) look for their fifth consecutive win as they host American at the OceanFirst Bank Center on Saturday, Dec. 21. The game will be broadcast live on FloCollege and NBC Sports Philadelphia.
