WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – New Jersey native Tessa Carman has officially signed to play for the Monmouth University Women's Basketball Team next fall, Head Coach
Cait Wetmore announced Tuesday afternoon.
"I am thrilled to add Tessa to the Hawk family," Wetmore stated. "Tessa is a tremendous local talent and an even better person. I knew right away that Tessa would be a great addition as she brings a level of versatility; she can play multiple positions and can score on multiple levels. I am really looking forward to coaching her."

Carman is entering her senior season at nearby Red Bank Catholic High School, where she has amassed over 700 points, nearly 500 rebounds, and over 100 assists in just 87 career games so far. As a junior in 2023-24, she was the third-leading scorer on a team that went 26-5 and won a state championship. In her three years at RBC, Carman has helped the Caseys to a 75-13 overall record under head coach Joe Montano.

A team captain, the Barnegat native has scored a career-high 18 points three times in her career – once per season – and last did so in a 72-39 victory over Albertus Magnus (NY) on Feb. 11, 2024. She has scored in double figures 27 times during her time with the Caseys. Her career high in rebounds of 17 came as a sophomore during the 2022-23 season versus New Providence on. Jan. 8.

Carman was named to the All-Shore Conference First Team as both a sophomore and junior and earned a spot on the All-Freshman Team in 2021-22 after appearing in 27 of 28 contests. She was an All-State First Team member for the Caseys last season.
Carman is also prominent on the AAU scene, as well, being a key member of Tracey Sabino's New Jersey Shoreshots club team. Academically, she plans to major in criminal justice during her time at Monmouth.
