ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Nine singles wins highlighted the day two action for the Monmouth University women's tennis team at the Bill and Sandra Moore Invitational hosted by the U.S. Naval Academy on Saturday.

Five Hawks remain alive for Sunday's action either in the main bracket or consolation bracket finals or semifinals.

Singles Action
Newcomer
Ximena Cano will compete in the Flight E finals after posting a pair of victories on Saturday. Cano started her day with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Mackenzie Lee. She followed that up with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Calista Daligawer of FDU.

Cano will face Kelly Barnes of St. Bonaventure in the Flight E finals.

Lana Brezanin has a spot in the Flight A consolation finals after earning a pair of victories on Saturday. She started her day with a 6-1, 0-6, 10-8 win over Mireia Turro of FDU. Brezanin followed that up with a 6-4, 6-3 victory versus Lauren Splett of George Mason in the semifinals.

Brezanin will face Lara Kaplan of Binghamton in the Flight A consolation finals.

In Flight B consolation action,
Hana McKinney started her day with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Hana Kimmey of Mary Washington. She then recorded a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Giselle Vlassis of Lehigh.Â

McKinney will face Addison Felts of Mary Washington in the Flight B consolation finals.Â

Lauren Landstrom will be in the Flight C consolation semifinals on Sunday after going 1-1 on Saturday. She fell in her quarterfinal match before rebounding with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Nitya Vyas of Binghamton.Â

She will face Megha Dania of Lehigh in the Flight C consolation semifinals on Sunday.

Jordyn Pax picked up a pair of wins on Saturday to reach the Flight D consolation finals. She started her day with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Olivia Geoghegan of Mary Washington. Pax followed that up with a 6-3, 3-6, 10-6 victory over Kashish Bote of St. Bonaventure.Â

Pax will face Riley Smith of Mary Washington in the Flight D consolation finals on Sunday.Â
