HAMPTON, VA – Monmouth University Baseball completed a weekend sweep of Merrimack College, 8-5 Sunday behind nine hits and strong pitching.
Phil Stahl had three hits, and
Jake Fraher threw three two-hit innings out of the bullpen.

Merrimack led 3-0 into the sixth before the Hawks answered, with
Eric Sabato scoring on a bases loaded walk before
Austin Denlinger tied the game with a two-run single. MU went on top when
Phil Stahl singled to center to make it 4-3, but the Warriors scored in the seventh to get back even at 4-4.

The Hawks scored four times in the seventh, scoring on a sac fly from
Will Trochiano to take the lead. Sabato was hit by a pitch with the bases full to make it 6-4, and Denlinger's sac fly made it 7-4. Stahl singled to center again to make it 8-4, and MU ultimately won it, 8-5.
