WOMEN'S TENNIS FALLS TO RADFORD, 5-2

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Jordyn Pax and Zoe Klapman recorded singles wins to lead the Monmouth University women's tennis team in a 5-2 loss to Radford University on Thursday night.

"It was a tough loss tonight. First doubles was down 6-3 in the tiebreaker and battled back to make it 6-6 before ultimately falling. I thought our singles players competed hard tonight. Ann Spurka played well at first singles and Lana Brezanin almost pulled it out at fourth singles," said head coach Patrice Murray.

Klapman continued her strong play at sixth singles with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Rachel Ekanem. Pax battled Ameek Batth at fifth singles. Batth took the first set, 6-4 before Pax led 5-4 in the second when Batth was forced to retire.

The first doubles team of Klapman and Hana McKinney lost the 7-6 heartbreaker as they trailed in the tiebreaker and rallied to even it before falling. The Hawks did pick up a win at second doubles as Pax and Brezanin defeated Batth and Brooke Murphy, 6-4.
