STONY BROOK, NY – Monmouth University Men's Basketball got 22 points and six steals from
Tahron Allen in winning its fourth consecutive game, topping Stony Brook University 61-54 Wednesday night.

A strong start to the second half saw Foster and Allen lead Monmouth to an 11-point lead, with Foster dropping in a long jumper to make it 45-34. Stony Brook used the three-pointer to get back in it, cutting the deficit to two with 3:56 remaining. The Seawolves were within one when Allen netted two straight tough shots, and MU held on the rest of the way behind a critical late steal from
Myles Ruth.

Monmouth struck first, scoring 10 of the first 13 points to lead by seven early, with three of those baskets coming from Foster. The Hawks lead grew as large as nine when Foster converted a three-point play at 11:49, but a 10-0 Stony Brook run had them back in front. For the final 9:14 of the half, neither team would lead by more than two and there were eight lead changes, the final one coming on
Tahron Allen's finish inside to send MU to the break up 27-26.
