WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Monmouth University Men's Basketball dropped a CAA matchup Saturday afternoon to Hofstra University, 86-57, snapping a four-game win streak for MU.
Andrew Ball and
Klemen Vuga both scored in double figures in the contest for Monmouth.

Hofstra used nine second-half threes to extend their lead in the second half, four of them from Tyler Thomas. Monmouth shot 52% in the second half and 60% from beyond the arc.

Hofstra opened the game on a 10-0 run but buckets from
Tahron Allen and
Jack Collins in transition cut it to eight.
Andrew Ball would halt a Hofstra push with back-to-back threes, while Ball and
Jakari Spence ended the half with dunks in transition as the Hawks went to the locker room trailing 37-16.

NOTES AND QUOTES

"Give Hofstra all the credit, I think they're one of the best teams obviously. I'm disappointed because we didn't come today ready, I was surprised because that hasn't happened in a long time. We've been competing, we've been playing super hard, I felt like we've been playing harder than other teams and that's why we had some success." – Head Coach
King Rice
