HIGH SCHOOL: Vaughan spent the last season at Massanutten Military Academy after graduating from Robert E. Lee High School the previous year. He was the Virginia 2A State Player of the Year, and a two-time Regional Player of the Year. Vaughan earned two All-State First Team honors and won a state title at Robert E. Lee in 2017, appearing in the title game twice. He netted 1,467 points in his final two seasons and averaged 10.6 points per game while at Massanutten. In his season at Massanutten, Vaughan helped them to a 32-4 record. Vaughan helped lead Robert E. Lee to consecutive state championship appearances and won a title in 2017. In 2017-18, he was named the Staunton News Leader All-City and All-County Player of the Year and in his senior season at Lee, he posted 17.8 points per game and 7.8 rebounds per contest after going for 16.6 points and 8.7 boards as a junior.
