Mya Brock had two goals and three assists and the defense did not allow a goal in the second half as the Monmouth University women's lacrosse team earned a big 14-3 win over Manhattan College on a rainy Wednesday afternoon.

Brock added a pair of draw controls to go with her five points on the afternoon.
Caroline Brennan contributed four goals for the Hawks while
Danielle McNeely finished with one goal, three assists, four caused turnovers and four ground balls. Julianna Iovine led Manhattan with two goals.Â

The first quarter was a back-and-forth affair as the Hawks and Jaspers traded goals. Brock's goal at 4:04 of the first quarter gave the Hawks a 3-2 lead after one.

The Hawks scored the first three goals of the second quarter and pushed their lead to 6-2 with 6:48 to go until the half. Iovine scored to briefly break up the Hawks' run before Brennan completed her hat trick just before the half. Monmouth led 7-3 at the break.

Monmouth scored six times in the third period and extended its lead to 13-3. McNeely and
Shea Berigan had a goal and an assist in the stanza for the Hawks. The defense clamped down in the period, holding the Jaspers to just two shots and no goals.Â

The lone goal of the fourth quarter belonged to Monmouth's
Caitlin Colbert. The defense again came up big and allowed just two shots in the stanza.Â
