GREENSBORO, NC – North Carolina A&T scored the final six points of the game and rallied for a 65-62 win over the Monmouth University women's basketball team on Sunday afternoon in Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) play.Â

Kaci Donovan paced the Hawks with 15 points and three assists while
Lovin Marsicano had 11 points and two steals.
Bri Tinsley added nine points, five rebounds and five assists for Monmouth. Jazmin Harris led the Aggies with 16 points while Laila Acox added 15 points and eight rebounds.Â

The Hawks jumped out to a 7-4 lead in the first period on an
Ella Farrelly jumper at 6:52. The two teams traded baskets as a Donovan jumper at 1:19 gave the visitors a 14-13 edge. The Aggies scored at the buzzer and took a 15-14 lead after one.Â

Monmouth opened the second quarter on a 14-2 run and turned a one-point deficit into a 11-point lead, 28-17 with 6:20 to play until the half. Marsicano knocked down a pair of three-pointers in that stretch. The two teams traded baskets over the next several minutes. Donovan completed a four-point play (made three-pointer and a foul shot) at 3:01 that put the Hawks up 35-26. The Aggies closed the stanza on a 9-0 run and the two teams went into the half tied at 35-35.

Monmouth opened the third quarter with a pair of threes from Tinsley and one from Donovan and held a 44-37 lead with 7:51 to go in the period. The Hawks and Aggies went back-and-forth trading points over the next several minutes. A
Jania Hall three-pointer at 3:32 put the Hawks ahead, 51-45. Three straight foul shots from Donovan gave the Hawks a 56-54 lead heading to the fourth.

The fourth quarter was a back-and-forth defensive battle. Hall's jumper at 1:59 put the Hawks on top, 62-59. However, that was the last points for the Hawks as the Aggies went on to score the game's final six points, including a pair of buckets from Harris to secure the comeback win.
