BOCA RATON, FL – Monmouth University Baseball completed its opening weekend of the season, dropping the series finale Sunday at Florida Atlantic University, 17-2.
Ben Winstead homered for the second straight game for MU.

FAU jumped to an 8-0 lead across the first four innings. Winstead led off the fifth for the Hawks with a solo home run, his second in as many days to get MU on the board. The Hawks added another run in the sixth with
Austin Denlinger leading off with a base hit and going to third on
Phil Stahl's double.
Jay Bant drove him in with a ground out.

Florida Atlantic posted five in the fifth and four across the sixth and seventh to open up the lead and ultimately win, 17-2.
