BALTIMORE, MD – Hana McKinney's win in the super tie-breaker at second singles helped the Monmouth University women's tennis team earn a thrilling 4-3 win over Loyola (Md.) on Saturday night. 
 
"We had a great showing from the doubles action tonight," said head coach Patrice Murray. It was so intense at first doubles and our third doubles helped us pull out the doubles point. Hana had a great match to help us clinch and Lauren played a marathon match only to lose in a super tiebreaker."
 
The Hawks got off to a great start by winning two of three doubles matches to secure an early point in the contest. Madison Mills and Lenien Jamir took down Olivia Tracey and Jessica Bodewes for a 6-4 win at first doubles. Monmouth clinched the doubles point with a hard-fought 7-5 win by Hana McKinney and Zoe Klapman over Emi Shivkumar and Anna Rico.
 
Loyola tied the match at 1-1 with a win at first singles. 
 
Jordyn Pax put the Hawks back on top, 2-1 with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Madison Metzdorf at fifth singles. Klapman pushed the Monmouth lead to 3-1 with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Addison Kemerer at sixth singles.
 
The Greyhounds pulled to within one, 3-2 with a victory at fourth singles. 
 
McKinney then clinched the win for the Hawks with a 6-7 (1-6), 6-3, 1-0 (10-8) victory over Lauren Manwiller at second singles. 
 
Loyola closed out the match with a 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (13-11) win at third singles as Lauren Landstrom gave Bodewes all she could handle.
