BOSTON – The Monmouth University women's rowing program made its debut at the Head of the Charles Regatta on Saturday afternoon on the Charles River.

Monmouth had two boats in the prestigious event with the Club 4+ placing 31st out of 52 and the Club 8+ coming in 25th place out of 40. 
 
RACE NOTES AND QUOTES
"It was exciting to race in our first Charles in program history this weekend! The coaching staff was extremely proud of the way this young team handled such an enormous race.  It can be easy to get caught up in the sheer scope of an event with almost 300,000 spectators.

Both boats stayed composed and raced extremely well.  Because we weren't in the event last year, both boats started well back in the pack.  We held off all of the crews behind us and each boat was able to secure four passes, however we were forced to the outside of several turns and it definitely hurt our overall times.  Our final placing wasn't representative of their performance.  In the end we felt great about how we raced and are looking forward to building on it next weekend in Philadelphia"
