WOMEN’S GOLF WINS MATCH PLAY EVENT VS. WAGNER

COLTS NECK, NJ – Monmouth University Women's Golf defeated Wagner College in the 2023 Vanessa Picciotto Perrine Memorial Intercollegiate, a match play event held at Trump National Golf Club Colts Neck. MU won 5-2, winning four matches and tying two.
 
The teams competed in seven individual matches, with Monmouth winning four and tying two, with Wagner winning one along with the two ties. None of Monmouth's wins reached the 17th hole, with Brooke Bothwell winning three and two, Liddie McCook coming out on top four and three, Ava Lozito winning five and four and Sophia Ramirez Velandia victorious four and three.
 
Jess Brehm and Angela Hyoju An each tied their matches, with MU's only loss coming in the second group, with Mary Gersec falling four and three.

-This marks Monmouth's lone match play event of the fall.
-Monmouth won five total points, winning four matches outright.
-None of MU's four wins reached the 17th hole.
-This marked the second year in a row the teams competed in a match play event, splitting the two meetings.
