MU WBB CONTINUES ROAD SWING SUNDAY AT UNCW

Opening Tip
• The Hawks wrap up their southern weekend with a visit to UNCW for Sunday's action.
• This is the second ever meeting between Monmouth and the Seahawks. The first came in 2009 in Wilmington.
Ariana Vanderhoop posted her second career double-double on Friday night. She had 14 points and a team-high 11 rebounds versus the Cougars.
• Monmouth had 15 assists on Friday night at Charleston. It was the eighth time this sason the Hawks have recorded 15 or more assists in a game.
Bri Tinsley and Lucy Thomas each recorded 13 points and six rebounds for MU on Friday night.
Belle Kranbuhl had a big game defensively as she matched her season-high with five blocks in the game.
• MU is one of the top three-point shooting teams in the CAA. The Hawks come into Sunday's game averaging 7.4 three-pointers per game.
• MU blocked nine shots on Friday at Charleston. The Hawks come into Sunday's action leading the CAA while averaging 4.33 blocks per game.
Bri Tinsley had three assists for the Hawks against Charleston. She comes into play Sunday ranked fifth in the CAA while averaging 4.0 assists per game.
• The Hawks shot 44.1% from the field on Friday night at Charleston. It was the eighth time this season the Hawks have shot 40% or better from the field in a game.
• Following the UNCW game, the Hawks return home on Friday, Jan. 27 to host Hampton at 7 p.m. Monmouth also hits the road to visit Northeastern that weekend.
 

SEEING DOUBLE
Ariana Vanderhoop led the Hawks on Friday night as she finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds. It was her first double-double of the season and second of her career. Her last came against St. Peter's on Feb. 21 of last year. 

Vanderhoop's double-double was the third by a Hawk this season as she joins Belle Kranbuhl and Lucy Thomas in that category.

NOT IN MY HOUSE 
MU has found success blocking the basketball this season. The Hawks recorded nine blocks against College of Charleston and matched their season-high in the process. As Belle Kranbuhl matched her season-high with five rejections while Bri Tinsley recorded her first of the season. 

The Hawks have 78 blocks and are averaging 4.33 blocks per game. That ranks first in the CAA this season. The Hawks are 7-5 this season when they record four or more blocks in a game. They had a season-high nine blocks in the win over NJIT and matched that mark against Charleston. MU's efforts have been led by Kranbuhl, who has 39 blocks so far this year, which ranks 16th nationally. Her 2.2 blocks per game is among the top three in the CAA this season. Kranbuhl is one of ten Hawks to record at least one block this season.

WE'VE GOT DOUBLE VISION
Ariana Vanderhoop led the Hawks with 14 points on Friday night at Charleston. It was her third straight game scoring in double figures and marked the seventh time this season she had reached the mark. 

In addition Bri Tinsley and Lucy Thomas each contributed 13 points for the Hawks. For Tinsley it marked the 11th time this season she has reached double figures. She leads the team in that category. Thomas reached double figures for the sixth time this season. 

CLEANING THE GLASS|
MU pulled down 45 rebounds against College of Charleston on Friday. Ariana Vanderhoop had a team-high 11 rebounds in the contest while Belle Kranbuhl added seven. Bri Tinsley and Lucy Thomas each had six. 

Monmouth is outrebounding its opponents by a +1.6 margin this season, which is tied for sixth in the CAA. The Hawks have outrebounded their opponents in eleven games this season. Kranbuhl is averaging a team-high 6.8 rebounds per game while Thomas is adding 5.3 rebounds per game. Six Hawks have grabbed 40 or more rebounds so far this season. 

WELCOME TO THE BLOCK PARTY
Belle Kranbuhl had five blocks on Friday night at Charleston. That gives her 39 for the season and 135 for her career. Kranbuhl currently ranks fifth on the career blocks list at Monmouth. She needs 15 more blocks to move into a tie with Christina Mitchell (2013-17) for fourth place on that list. 

MISS ASSIST
Ariana Vanderhoop led the Hawks with four assists on Friday night while Bri Tinsley added three helpers against the Cougars. The Hawks have now had at least one player with four or more assists in 16 of 18 games.

Monmouth comes into this weekend averaging 13.28 assists per game, which ranks fifth in the CAA. The Hawks have recorded 15 or more assists in eight games this year. Tinsley leads the Hawks while averaging 4.0 assists per game. She ranks fifth in the CAA in that category. 

SOLID SHOOTING
Monmouth has proven to have a solid shooting percentage through the first 18 games of the season. MU shot 44.1% from the field on Friday night at Charleston. The Hawks are shooting 40.1% from the field entering play Sunday. That ranks sixth in the CAA. Monmouth is 5-3 on the year when it shoots 40% or better from the field in a game. Belle Kranbuhl, Lucy Thomas, Ariana Vanderhoop and Kaci Donovan have all taken over 100 shots on the year and are shooting 40% or better for the Hawks this season. 

SCOUTING THE SEAHAWKS 
UNCW picked up its first CAA win of the year with a 62-58 victory over Elon Friday night. Jayde Gamble led the Seahawks with 20 points in that contest while Lexi Jackson added 11 points and nine rebounds. Carrie Gross leads UNCW on the season as she is averaging 12.9 points per game with 34 assists.

Monmouth is back at it on Friday, Jan. 27 when it hosts Hampton at 7 p.m.
