HAWKS SECURE SEASON-OPENING VICTORY AT LEHIGH, 3-0

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Monmouth University women's soccer team cruised to a 3-0 win in its season opener at Lehigh on Friday night.

The win for the Hawks (1-0) marked the first of Kylee Flynn's career as a collegiate head coach.

Monmouth struck early in the opening half after Olivia Ramiz got control of the ball at midfield and took it past a pack of Lehigh (0-1) defenders before scoring her team's first goal of the 2022 campaign.

The Hawks eventually tacked on an insurance goal in the 72nd minute after Chloe Ferreira got ahold of a loose ball off a corner and buried the shot. Less than 10 minutes later, Julia Evernham was sprinting down the sideline with the ball in her possession before ripping a shot to the opposite end of the goal to extend the lead to 3-0.
