WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – The Monmouth University football program had a pair of student-athletes named to the STATS Perform Preseason All-America Team, the organization announced Monday.
Senior running back
Juwon Farri was a second team choice, while graduate student punter
Ryan Kost earned a spot on the third team. Farri collected the STATS Perform preseason recognition for the second straight year. Both players were recently named CAA Preseason All-Conference Honorable Mention choices.
Farri was a First Team All-Big South selection last season after he totaled 705 yards on the ground and eight rushing touchdowns despite missing three games due to injury. He had three 100-yard games on the ground and added 11 catches for 53 yards in 2021. In his career, Farri has scored 26 rushing touchdowns in 23 games with a 97.8 yards per game average and 5.7 yards per attempt.Â
Kost was a First Team All-Big South choice as a senior in 2021 and claimed his second straight all-league award. He averaged 44.3 yards per punt which led the conference and ranked eighth in the NCAA. Kost had 12 punts of 50+ yards and 17 of his 40 punts were downed inside the opponent's 20-yard line. Kost's career punting average is 42.7 yards.
The Hawks reported for camp on Sunday and will have their first practice of the season on Monday afternoon.
