LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – Closing out their time in the conference, the Monmouth University men's and women's track and field teams won the 2022 MAAC Outdoor Track & Field titles on Sunday afternoon at Rider's Michael P. Brady Track & Field Complex. The men ended up with 263 total points while the women collected 250. Both cleared second-place Rider by considerable margins—the men won by 57 points while the women had a 47.5-point advantage. With their triumphs, the men's and women's programs will leave the MAAC having won every outdoor track and field championship they competed in.
In addition to the team titles, the Hawks also took home some individual accolades. For the second straight season,
Mike Nelson was named both the men's and women's Coach of the Year.
Keven Kevelier was recognized as the Men's Field Most Outstanding Performer, while Yasmeen Tinsley earned Track Rookie of the Meet honors.

QUOTES
"A big thank you goes out to the MAAC and Rider University for hosting a great championship. There were some tough weather conditions that made things challenging but the meet ran smoothly.
"This weekend was really special for our program! Both the women and men walked away with team championships. I'm so proud of the way our student-athletes competed in less-than-ideal conditions. There were so many great performances, it's hard to know where to begin. We were competitive in every event which follows along with our philosophy of 'team' track & field. Our coaching staff did a wonderful job of preparing the athletes to be at their best when it mattered the most.
"There are so many people who play a role in these championships. None of this would be possible without the support of our athletic administration. Also, our sports medicine, strength and conditioning, sports information, academic support, and compliance offices play a huge role in our success. Today was a great day to be a Hawk!"
